Barbara Heise, Neighbor

My husband Ron and I moved to University City in January of 1978 when University City was suffering from white flight.  Neither of us are from St. Louis and we both wanted to live in a community that was vibrant, urban and a place where people were involved with the neighborhood.  We also loved the housing stock and surprisingly fell in love with a fifties ranch at the western edge of University City.  Our son Stephen grew up here and went to Flynn Park elementary school. We feel that he benefitted greatly from his interraction with the community.  He has travelled the world and now lives in NYC.  I have been a real estate broker (Keller Williams Realty STL) since moving here and have heartily promoted the amenities of University City since day one.  We just recently downsized and moved to the city but thoroughly enjoyed the years we spent in UCity.
