Sign Up Now for U City's Memorial Day Run

Entry fees increase after May 12. Registration can be done online or in person.

A St. Louis tradition, the University City Memorial Day Run is one of the oldest continuously run 10K races west of the Mississippi. The 39th annual event will be held on Monday, May 27, with 5K and 10K races starting concurrently at 7:30 a.m. in front of the University City Library, 6701 Delmar. Two fun runs, just under a mile, are open to children and their parents and begin at the library immediately after the finish of the 10K.  Complete information including course maps, registration and photos and results from past years events on the race's web site.  Awards are given to 5K and 10K overall winners and top finishers in five-year age groups. Heat, Humidity Doesn't Hamper Memorial Day Run

Runners ran the streets of University City Monday.

Runners tookd to the streets Monday to benefit University City Public Library, U City in Bloom, University City Children's Center and the Green Center.  The 38th annual University City Memorial Day run brought out 1,400 runners to the streets of University City.

Register for the Memorial Day Run Today

Interested runners can register from noon to 5 p.m. today at the University City Public Library.

There's still time to register for the 38th annual University City Memorial Day run.  A registration booth will be open today from noon to 5 p.m. at the University City Public Library. The 5K and 10K runs begin at 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 28, in front of the Library on Delmar. The fun run for children begins at 9:15 a.m. for children ages 8-12 and 9:30 a.m. for those ages 8 and under. The run benefits the University City Library, U City in Bloom, University City Children's Center and the Green Center.  Check out a gallery of pictures from the 2011 Memorial Day run. 38th Annual U City Memorial Day Run Is May 28

Event benefits local non-profit groups.

The 38th annual University City Memorial Day Run will be held May 28.The 10K and 5K runs run concurrently and begin at 7:30 a.m., an earlier start time this year.  The race benefits The Green Center, U City in Bloom, The University City Children's Center and the University City Public Library. Participants in the 5 and 10K events should be at the start in front of the University City Public Library by 7:20 a.m. The Fun Runs will be held on Trinity Avenue in the neighborhood behind City Hall and will begin at 9:15 a.m. for children 9 and older, and at 9:30 a.m. for those 8 and under.  T-shirts will be guaranteed for all runners entering by May 4. One of the things that makes University City so great is the fact that lots of our residents get very involved in the life of our community. We have very active Boards and Commissions, which serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council. We have active volunteers at our local schools, churches and synagogues. We have a good number of local non-profit organizations that were started by residents and have become a vital part of our community, and other groups that are just finding their feet.
