A second man has been charged in a robbery in a parking lot off the Loop on Oct. 25. University City Police said that Jermaine Pate and Timothy Valley robbed a man and took his car. Pate, 23, of the 5500 block of Etzel in St. Louis, was charged Feb. 14 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Valley was charged with the robbery Dec. 7. University City Police said Pate approached a man in the parking lot near 605 Leland at 12:11 a.m. Oct 25 and asked for jumper cables. The man responded that he had no jumper cables, and Pate asked to borrow a cell phone, police said. Valley then came up and put a knife to the man’s neck, and Pate took out a handgun. A St. Louis man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Wednesday on charges that he abducted and robbed a woman in a Washington University parking lot Aug. 28. William Cobbins, 22, of the 1600 block of Pine Street in St. Louis, was indicted for kidnapping, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. St. Louis County Police said Cobbins forced the woman into the driver’s seat of her car at the parking garage at 6985 Snow Way Drive. He got in the back seat and put a knife up to her abdomen and forced her drive to ATMs in three locations, having her withdraw a total of $1,500. A man was charged for robbing a man and stealing his car just after midnight Oct. 25 at 605 Leland Avenue. The area is a parking lot behind a restaurant on the Loop on the 6600 block of Delmar Blvd. Timothy L. Valley, 19, was charged Dec. 7 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. University City Police said Valley and another man stole a man’s cell phone and his 1996 Toyota Camry. The other man approached the victime in the parking lot and asked if he could borrow some jumper cables, police said When the man told him he had no jumper cables, Valley asked to borrow his cell phone. A Vinita Park man was stabbed to death Wednesday in his home in the 8300 block of Monroe Street, just north of Olivette. Vinita Park Police said in a report that Jarvis Simms, 28, was seen repeatedly stabbing the victim, Walter Scott, with a large bladed knife. Simms has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Police said in the probable cause statement that Simms stabbed Scott “after deliberation.” Simms is being held in St. Louis County Justice Services Center without bond.
