A University City man has been charged with his sixth stealing offense after being accused of shoplifting. Calvin S. Williams, 32, of the 7300 block of Tulane Avenue in University City, was charged Wednesday with stealing as a third offense, a class D felony. Kirkwood Police said Williams tried to return shoes for a cash refund that he had not purchased at about 4:36 p.m. Aug. 9 at Sports Authority, 1205 South Kirkwood Road in Kirkwood. Security personnel saw him remove a security sensor from a pair of Asics athletic shoes and brought the shoes for a refund. Security personnel called the cashier and told her not to complete the transaction, and Williams grabbed the shoes and ran from the store, police said. Bridgeton Police later arrested …

Kirkwood Police said two men stole NFC championship and Big 12 championship rings among other items from the home.
Two men stole more than $28,000 in electronics and jewelry, including NFC championship ring and Big 12 championship rings, on Dec. 31 from the Kirkwood home of Rob Boras, the St. Louis Rams tight ends coach. James Bright, of the 6200 block of Sunshine Drive in High Ridge, and Jeffrey Medcalf, of the 1100 block of Briarhurst in West County, were charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing more than $25,000, a class B felony. A University City man who stole an amplifier from AT&T Mobility returned to the store and was recognized by a store employee. Robert T. Jones Jr., 43, of the 7200 block of Vernon Avenue in University City, was charged Oct. 31 with stealing as a third offense within 10 years. Kirkwood Police said an employee saw Jones steal a Jaw Bone brand MP3 amplifier from the store at about 1 p.m. July 5. When Jones returned to AT&T Mobility at 1263 South Kirkwood Road a few weeks later, the employee recognized him, police said. Jones also pleaded guilty to stealing charges in 2007 and 2008.
