A University City woman faces criminal charges for stabbing her husband in the neck and firing a handgun in their apartment in the 800 block of Lepere Avenue in U City. Daryel A. Mueller, 31, was charged Thursday with first-degree domestic assault and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. University City Police said Mueller was arguing with her husband April 24 when she pulled out a Taurus 9 mm handgun, threatened him and fired a shot during the argument. When her husband started to leave, she stabbed him in the neck with a knife, police said. Police said the man got nine stitches in his neck at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. University City Police said Timothy K. Brison fled from officers on Wednesday and threw the handgun away during a chase. Officers said they found the weapon after catching Brison.
A University City man faces several criminal charges after flashing a handgun in Eastgate Park, police said. University City Police said an officer, who was responding to a call that a man flourished a firearm on Monday, spotted Timothy K. Brison, who fit the description of the man for whom he was looking. A man was charged for robbing a man and stealing his car just after midnight Oct. 25 at 605 Leland Avenue. The area is a parking lot behind a restaurant on the Loop on the 6600 block of Delmar Blvd. Timothy L. Valley, 19, was charged Dec. 7 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. University City Police said Valley and another man stole a man’s cell phone and his 1996 Toyota Camry. A 41-year-old University City man shot a North County man in the chest in Glasgow Village, St. Louis County Police said. Eric C. Cooper, 41, of the 7400 block of Liberty Avenue in University City, was charged Wednesday with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. St. Louis County Police said Cooper shot the man in the chest Nov. 21 in the 10500 block of Lothian Circle in Glasgow Village in North County. The shooting victim was taken to a St. Louis area hospital. Information was not immediately available on his condition. A University City man who was being robbed was able to alert a tow truck driver, who called police about 1:34 p.m. Tuesday at 7200 Amherst Ave. The robbers ran off, but officers arrested them later, according to a University City Police report. Jared Tate, 20, and Earl F. Farmer, 22, both of the city of St. Louis, were charged Tuesday with first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action. Farmer also was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun. University City Police said the two men approached the victim near 7200 Amherst Ave. in U City, holding handguns and demanded money. A man faces criminal charges after police said he shot a man three times Aug. 25 in the 6800 block of Olive Boulevard in University City. Maleke Johnson, 18, of the 5700 block of Albia Terrace in Jennings, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. University City Police said in a report that Johnson approached a group of people in a parking lot at about 4:25 p.m. Aug. 25 and shot the victim three times, twice in the arm and once in the hand. Court documents identify the shooter in the June 22 drive-by killing of Destinee Clemons. Witnesses told police that Jeremy Bowers, 20, was driving the red Toyota Corolla June 22 and slowed down as he approached the home in the 6500 block of Plymouth Drive in U City, according to a probable cause statement by University City Police. More details were released on the Heman Park shooting on Friday as charges were filed against three men. Each of the three men were charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. The suspects are: University City Police said in a report the three men, acting together, shot at the victim near the basketball courts in Heman Park Friday. Several witnesses described a van as being involved in the shooting, police said. The victim identified two of the men in the van as people who shot at him. A teenager was charged July 12 with two burglaries in St. Louis County. Vernell Windom, 18, of the 6500 block of Corbitt Avenue in University City, was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of stealing and stealing a firearm. St. Louis County Police said in a report that Windom and another person broke into a home in the 4300 block of Varano Drive between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22.
