A man faces criminal charges for molesting a 10-year-old child in University City, police said. Fred Butler Jr., 32, of the 3800 block of Penrose Street in St. Louis, was charged Feb. 8 with two counts of first-degree child molestation. University City Police said Butler subjected the child to sexual contact on two occasions. Butler was being held in St. Louis County jail Wednesday. Bail was set at $50,000, cash only. A former day care worker faces criminal charges for subjecting a 5-year-old child to sexual contact, University City Police said. Carmen Hunter, 53, of the 4900 block of Lindenwood Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Wednesday with first-degree child molestation. University City Police said Hunter was a teacher’s assistant at King’s Day Care Center and between June 5, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2006, she subjected a 5-year-old child to sexual contact. The contact took place in a restroom, according to a report. The day care is at 848 Kingsland Ave. Hunter confessed to the contact, according to police. A University City man faces criminal charges after police said he had sexual contact with a child last December. Brandon Hall, 36, of University City, was charged in St. Louis County Circuit Court with first-degree child molestation. Ladue police arrested Hall on Saturday at the Ladue grocery store where he worked. University City Police said he had sexual contact with a young girl on Dec. 21. Jason M. Monroe, 32 of Belleville, IL, was charged Tuesday with three counts of first-degree statutory rape, attempted enticement of a child, and misrepresenting his age to solicit a minor for sexual misconduct. St. Louis County Police said Monroe met with the 13-year-old three times in July and had sex with the 13-year-old. According to the report, Monroe texted the child on Aug. 6, stating they would “do the same stuff we did last time.” Police are not disclosing the exact location in St. Louis County where the alleged crimes took place. Police said the two exchanged text messages over a three-month period, and Monroe told the victim he was 23 years old when he actually was 32. Bond for Monroe was set at $300,000.

An 82-year-old University City man was charged Friday with touching a 15-year-old girl sexually. Donald L. Robinson, 82, of the 1500 block of Moore Place, has been charged with two counts of second-degree child molestation, which are class A misdemeanors. University City Police said that a 15-year-old girl told them Robinson grabbed her breast and buttocks many times between Feb. 1 and March 25.
