Fox 2 News: Subways In U City, Olivette Robbed

The sandwich shops were robbed overnight.

Subway restaurants in University City and Olivette were robbed overnight. The Subway on Olive near North and South in U City is missing a cash box, according to Fox2News. The glass door was broken. The Olivette Subway location is located nearby on Olive Blvd. A window there was broken but owners have not yet disclosed if anything was taken.  According to Fox2News, the Olivette break-in was reported to police just minutes after University City Police began to investigate the University City break-in. No injuries were reported in either crime as the stores were closed. Investigations continue. According to KSDK, the University City robbery was caught on surveillance tape.

Burglary Alert: Police Warn U City, Clayton Residents

Police are investigating break-ins in both cities.

Police are alerting University City and Clayton residents to keep the doors to their homes locked and alarms activated. Clayton Police officers caught Rodney Dunlap loading his vehicle with $4,600 worth of property from a home in the 8100 block of Westmoreland Avenue in Clayton. Dunlap is charged with stealing and second degree burglary. University City Police officers told KMOV Dunlap is also being investigated for a similar crime in U City. U City resident Francine Attoun told KMOV she didn't feel safe anymore.  “We really don’t leave our house at night much even though we have an alarm system,” Attoun said.  Police officers say there are a few easy ways to keep your home from becoming a target, especially during this holiday traveling …

We have started a Neighborhood Watch in our UCity neighborhood to combat this type of crime. It would be helpful for police officers to add their comments to articles like this. Such as, what made Mr. Dunlap (and it makes me cringe to refer to a low-life in this way) decide to target this house?   more ›
