U City Teen Steals Firearms, Jewelry From Neighbor, Police Say

The man is charged with stealing two handguns and an assault rifle in a Nov. 2 burglary.

A 17-year-old University City man stole firearms and jewelry from a neighbor in a burglary Nov. 2 in the 800 block of Wild Cherry Lane, police said. Cody Homeyer, 17, also of the 800 block of Wild Cherry Lane in U City, was charged Saturday with second-degree burglary, felony stealing and three counts of stealing a firearm. University City Police said Homeyer broke into the home and stole a .357 Magnum Smith and Wesson revolver, a 9 mm Taurus semi-automatic pistol, an S&S semi-automatic assault rifle, and jewelry, including a 14-carat white gold band, a fake Tiffany bracelet and two men’s watches. University City Man Charged With Assault After Being Shot by Police

Police say the man pointed an assault rifle at them during a chase when they fired at him.

Prosecutors filed felony charges Friday against a man who was shot Thursday by St. Louis Metro police officers in University City. Police said the suspect, Darius Robinson, 24, of the 6700 block of Corbitt Avenue in University City, pointed a loaded Smith & Wesson .22 cal semi-automatic assault rifle at the officers. Robinson was shot in the ankle while in a backyard in the 6800 block of Roberts Avenue in University City, just blocks from his residence. The incident started in St. Louis, and officers pursued a man from the city to U City. Police said the chase started with a traffic stop at Page and Skinker boulevards. Part of the chase was on foot.
