Breaking: U City Schools Closed Monday

Patch is partnering with Fox2 to bring you a list of school closings for March 25 after a major winter storm rolled through the area Sunday.

March's surprise snow storm hit on Sunday morning. The relentless snow wouldn't stop falling and now many students (and teachers, too) are left wondering if school be called off for Monday. Wash U Campus Looks Beautiful During Thursday Snow (Video)

A winter storm caused headaches for motorists in much of St. Louis, but it was surprisingly serene on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.

The winter storm on Thursday may have caused road closures, school closings and canceled flights, but the campus of Washington University in St. Louis remained surprisingly calm during the storm.  Wash U posted a video to its YouTube account that included footage from around campus during the Thursday snow. 1.) With the increased traffic on the Daniel Boone Bridge due to lane closures on the Blanchette, why did they decide to do blasting now? It doesn't make sense to have closures on one of the alternate routes. Drivers in the Lake St. Louis/Wentzville area do not have easy access to the Page extension. 2.) Winter Storm Cancels More than 160 Flights out of Lambert

The cancellations include all American Airlines flights in or out of the city after 3 p.m.

The mix of snow, sleet and ice hitting the St. Louis area has forced dozens of cancellations at Lambert International Airport, including all American Airlines flights in or out of the city after 3 p.m. More than 40 arrivals and 40 departures had been cancelled by 8:30 a.m., according to the airport’s blog, and a check of online flight information at 11:10 a.m. showed that number had risen to more than 160 total cancelled flights. Cancellations decisions are made by the individual airlines. You can see the status of your flight by visiting Lambert’s website.

Here We Go Again...

University City residents are once again bracing for a winter storm.

A major winter storm is taking aim at University City. Snow accumulation estimates vary, but needless to say, the system is expected to make a mess. Sunday, I picked up groceries, filled up the car with gas and hit an ATM for some money. Are you doing anything to prepare for the winter storm? The National Weather Service reports a wintry mix, mostly in the form of freezing rain will develop across the area Monday and continue in waves through Monday night.
