Other Delmar Loop businesses will be holding a sidewalk sale on Saturday.
The sixth annual Record Store Day is Saturday, April 20, and Vintage Vinyl is ready to celebrate. The record store in the Delmar Loop will have live music and great deals all day long. According to Record Store Day.com the event was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the 700 independently owned record stores in the United States. To help celebrate, businesses along the Delmar Loop will have a sidewalk sale, featuring items up to 75 percent off. The sidewalk sale begins at noon. Star Clipper will also be hosting a comic book release party for Tanked, from local comic creators Ink and Drink Comics, as they release their sixth comic anthology. The …

The general manager of the U City shop has a reason to celebrate.
Vintage Vinyl general manager/head buyer John Henderson said the University City record shop is looking forward to Record Store Day, which is set for April 20. People across the country and world will be celebrating independent record stores. “We’ll have bands playing all day, special guest DJs, free beer, free cupcakes," Henderson said. "it’s a big party.” Henderson said hundreds of exclusive releases will be available that day and offered only at independent stores. With so much music offered digitally these days, Vintage Vinyl is still going strong. Vintage Vinyl will host live performances and have free drinks and exclusive albums for Record Store Day on Saturday. The annual event celebrates and supports independently-owned record stores across the country. Vintage Vinyl will participate from 10 a.m. to midnight with a packed music schedule that includes Sleepy Sun, Rough Shop and Dear John, among others, notes the store's Facebook page.
