Taste of U City Packs People In Thursday

The University City Chamber of Commerce held its second Taste of U City at Heman Park Community Center Thursday.

Crowds packed Heman Community Center Thursday for the second Taste Of U City. This year’s event supported Operation Food Search.  Participating restaurants included Al-Tarboush Deli, Anheuser-Busch, Bob’s Seafood, Brentmoor, Cheese-ology Macaroni and Cheese, De Palm Tree, Fitz’s Root Beer, Fortel’s Pizza, Frank and Helen's Pizzeria, Fro-Yo Frozen Yogurt, House of India, Jimmy Johns, La Monarca, LuLu’s Seafood Restaurant, Major Brands, Market Pub House, The Melting Pot, Meshuggah Cafe, Momo's Pizzeria and Tavern, Nicos, Noodles and Co., Olive Supermarket, Papa John's Pizza, Pasta House, Qdoba, Ranoush, Schnucks, St. Louis Kollel Bookstore, Three Kings Public House, Tokyo Seafood Buffet, Tutti-Fruitti and Vernon’s BBQ. Time to Eat: Taste of U City Is Thursday Night

The University City Chamber of Commerce will hold its second Taste of U City at Heman Park Community Center.

Who's ready to taste some of the best food University City and the Delmar Loop has to offer?  The second Taste Of U City is Thursday, May 9, from 5-8 p.m. at Heman Community Center. This year’s event, co-sponsored by Fifth/Third Bank, also supports Operation Food Search.  See our 2012 coverage: Taste of U City Showcases Area's Best Eats The all-inclusive tickets are $20, plus a donation of canned goods for OFS. Once inside, guests may taste a variety of food and drinks from more than 30 local restaurants and specialty food stores. U City Day at the Ballpark: Ticket Sales Extended

The deadline to buy tickets for U City Day at Busch Stadium has been extended to May 2.

Haven't bought your tickets to join other University City residents at Busch Stadium for U City Day at the Ballpark? There is still time.  The University City school and business community will be cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, May 19, at the 1:15 p.m. game with the Brewers.  The deadline to purchase tickets has been extended until May 2. Chamber, City to Host Look at Olive Boulevard Business

The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.

The University City Chamber of Commerce and the City of University City are hosting Olive Boulevard: What's Down the Road? today from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Heman Park Community Center. The joint meeting will update Olive Boulevard property owners, businesses and interested community members on planned and proposed activities. U City Chamber of Commerce Names 2013 Officers

The officers were elected at a Dec. 11 board meeting.

The University City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted in the following slate of officers and directors for 2013 at its Dec. 11 board meeting:  Directors include Irina Bursak, AW Healthcare; Jack Fishman, attorney; Yolanda Hairston, Fifth/Third Bank; Lars Johnson, Twain Rentals; Bill Krenn, Winco; Denise Niemann, Brentmoor; Mike Stevenson, Royal Bank; and Jeff Weintrop, The Silver Lady.  The Chamber wishes to extend a special thanks to its retiring 2012 officers including President Lars Johnson, Secretary Linda Locke and Treasurer Hugo Figueira who worked very hard getting the Chamber through the first year of operations.

Chamber Holds 'A Night at the Casino'

The event drew a crowd to the Heman Park Community Center.

The University City Chamber of Commerce held "A Night at the Casino" at the Heman Park Community Center on Saturday. Guests received a pile of chips to play poker, blackjack, roulette, craps and slot machines. The chips won at the gaming tables became chances to win prizes throughout the evening.
