Updated: Redistricting Shuffles University City State Representatives

University City is divided into three districts rather than four, but five current state representatives are in those three districts.

Updated information is below the subhead "Two legislators, one district." A newly redrawn district map has given University City parts of three state representative districts and five state representatives. Rep. Rory Ellinger (D-University City) is the only current representative in the newly formed 86th District, which includes all of University City north of Delmar Boulevard and east of Interstate 170, plus a sliver of University City just west of I-170 off Delmar. Ellinger’s district extends north to St. Charles Rock Road and includes Pagedale and Wellston. Special Election in 83rd District Goes to Tracy McCreery

Olivette Independent knocks off two candidates from Overland.

Olivette resident Tracy McCreery won Tuesday's special election to fill a Missouri State Representative seat in the 83rd District, which is spread across Olivette, University City and Overland. McCreery, a Democrat, ran for the House seat as an independent because the nominated Democratic candidacy was already taken by O’ Jeff Connell. McCreery won with 1,647 votes, followed by O'Connell with 1,096 votes. Republican and Tea Party candidate Patrick Brennan had 1,005 votes. McCreery fills the seat vacated by Jake Zimmerman who was selected the County's first Assessor by vote last April. McCreery was first introduced to politics serving as an aide in Jefferson City to former Senator Joan Bray who in turn served as her campaign chairman. …
