Report: U City's Nelly to Play The Pageant in August

Nelly will play a benefit for Vatterott College.

University City's own Nelly is coming home to play the Delmar Loop. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Nelly will play The Pageant on Aug. 3. The event is a fundraiser for Vatterott College. Tickets for the event are $36 and will go on sale at 5 p.m. Friday, the Post reports. Nelly's Ex'Treme Institute is part of Vatterott College. Local Elvis Impersonator to Star in Elvis the Apostle

The kick-off announcement and trailer premiere of "Elvis the Apostle" will be at the Memories of Elvis show Jan. 12 at The Pageant.

Known internationally for his electrifying Elvis concert experiences, Steve Davis, will announce his starring role in the feature film ELVIS THE APOSTLE at the annual “Memories of Elvis” birthday bash Jan. 12, 2013 at The Pageant. Presley would have turned 78 on Tuesday.  Those attending the event will also get a sneak peek at the investor trailer for the film and a chance to purchase film-related merchandise. According to a press release, Davis will portray Rick Barton, a hardworking mechanic and Harley-rider beset by the despairs of mid-life. After suffering a brain injury, his character finds recovery and redemption by becoming a gospel-singing, street-preaching Elvis.   Co-director and writer Pete Nicolazzi chose Davis for the role …

Video: Matisyahu Acoustic Set at Vintage Vinyl

The artist performed at Vintage Vinyl in the Delmar Loop on Aug. 16.

Matisyahu performed an acoustic set at the Delmar Loop's own Vintage Vinyl on Aug. 16.  The artist will be back in town Wednesday, Nov. 14, for a show at The Pageant. Moonrise Hotel Voted "Best of the Midwest" by AAA Readers

Second year in a row the Delmar Loop hotel has taken this award.

The results are in — the Moonrise Hotel in St. Louis, has been voted “Best Small Hotel” by the readers of AAA Midwest Traveler in the annual “Best of the Midwest” Awards. This is the second year in a row Moonrise Hotel has taken home this honor. Opened in April 2009, this 125-room chic, boutique hotel is located in the heart of the Delmar Loop, designated by the American Planning Association as “One of the 10 Great Streets in America.” Distributed in Missouri, eastern Kansas, southern Illinois, and southwestern Indiana, AAA Midwest Traveler has a circulation of 550,000.
