Pop a Top to Help U City Campers

Centennial Commons is asking for donations of can pop tabs.

Centennial Commons is sending a “shout-out” to all U-Citians — summer campers need your “beverage can pop tabs.” A variety of art projects are planned this summer using pop tabs and the city is asking residents to donate all they can. The tabs will be accepted at Centennial Commons during normal business hours until June 30.  U City's Deputy Director of Recreation Lynda Euell-Taylor said "thank you from the 2013 Summer Camp kids!"

Cartooning, Cookie Monster at COCA Summer Camps

Registration for summer camp sessions begins Feb. 26.

Those wishing to enroll their children in the Center of Creative Arts (COCA)'s 2013 Summer Arts Camps can start Feb. 26, according to a news release.  Camps, held at COCA in University City and Whitfield School in Creve Coeur, are geared toward students ages 3-18. Camps focus in theater, dance, music, visual arts and culinary arts, and many are multidisciplinary. Advanced programs like Commercial Dance and Digital Video are geared toward teens who have some experience in the field. Try camps like Cookie Monster, Cartooning, Claymation, iPad Illustration, Green Cuisine, Hip-Hop, and Theatre Design Intensive. Camp registrations deadlines are fast approaching.

Looking for a great local summer camp for the kids? Look no further - there are several camps in and around University City.  Green Center's Nature Explorer Camps The Green Center’s Nature Explorer Camps will allow students to explore our prairie, forest, wetland, greenhouse and discovery garden outdoor classrooms.  Programming will take place both indoors and outdoors. Students should dress appropriately for the weather. Please note: Students do need to bring a lunch each day. Camp registrations deadlines are fast approaching.

Looking for a great local summer camp for the kids? Look no further - there are several camps in and around University City.  U City’s Summer Camp and Teen Activities Programs Children ages 5-14 will have a blast at the city’s Summer Camp and Teen Activities Programs, which include swimming, tennis, field trips, arts and crafts and more. The programs (for ages 5-14) will run for eight weeks (June 11-August 3) at Centennial Commons. Summer camps being offered this year include: Summer camp rates are as follows: Children may register for all eight weeks or for two-week sessions.
