Update: Revised Agenda for U City School Board

The board will swear in new members tonight, but the board will not reorganize until April 18.

The School District of University City has revised its agenda for tonight's school board meeting. The board will swear in its newly elected board members, but the board will not reorganize until its next regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, April 18. See our previous story: U City School Board to Swear in Members Tonight Immediately following the special meeting, the board will hold a workshop meeting. The items on the workshop agenda are: The public is invited to observe, but not participate in the workshop. 

U City School Board to Swear in Members Tonight

The board will hold a special meeting to administer the oath of office.

The School District of University City will hold a special meeting Thursday, April 4, to swear in its newly elected board of education members. The meeting is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Tom Peters and Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal each won re-election Tuesday. The only other item on the agenda is the reorganization of the board. Immediately following the special meeting, the board will hold a workshop meeting. The items on the workshop agenda are: The public is invited to observe, but not participate in the workshop.

Just Announced: U City Candidate Forum Tonight

The school board election is April 2.

A candidate forum for the School District of University City board of education race has just been announced. The forum will be held at 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday, March 21) at the University City Public Library.  The event is hosted by the League of Women Voters.  There are two open seats on the Board of Education. Election season is upon us and University City Patch is gearing up to bring you the best local election coverage possible.  Local elections are Tuesday, April 2. There is no election for City of University City offices this year, but there is quite a race for seats on the School District of University City Board of Education. U City Elections: What Do You Want to Know?

Municipal election season is upon us and University City Patch is gearing up to bring you the best local election coverage possible.  Local elections are April 3. There is no election this year in the School District of University City; only two candidates filed for the two open positions. Incumbent Linda Peoples and newcomer John Clark will be seated on the board after election day. Several candidates have filed for a seat on the University City City Council. The candidates are: incumbent Terry Crow and Carol Wofsey; First Ward; Jan Adams and Paulette Carr, Second Ward; and incumbent Arthur Sharpe, Jr., Third Ward.  Second Ward Council member Lynn Ricci did not file to retain her seat.
