Former State Rep. Gains More Backers In Race To Return To Jefferson City

Former Rep. Gina Walsh is aiming for a spot in the State Senate.

Former state Rep. Gina Walsh (D-Bellefontaine Neighbors) continues to rack up endorsements in her bid for the 13th District Senate seat. Walsh this week said that she had been officially endorsed by St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, not a surprising development since the Democratic official attended her kick-off party earlier this year. She also received backing from St. Louis County Councilman Mike O’Mara (D-Florissant), Councilwoman Kathleen Burkett (D-Overland) and Councilman Pat Dolan (D-Richmond Heights). University City Celebrates the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Celebration at high school featured poems, essays and music.

University City came together Saturday afternoon to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The University City School District and the City of University City joined together for the 26th annual program titled "Remembering the Man, Embracing His Vision." The event was held at University City High School. Students presented orations based on the words of Dr. King and honored him with musical performances. The 2012 MLK Spirit Award was presented to Redditt Hudson, a 1983 graduate of University City High School. Hudson is a program associate for the American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri.
