The UCHS 2011-12 interim principal will be the new principal of Jennings High School.
Fox2News is reporting that Dayle Burgdorf, the 2011-12 University City High School interim principal, will be the next principal at Jennings High School. According to Fox2, the Jennings School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Dayle Burgdorf as the principal of Jennings High School. She will begin her new position on Monday, July 9. Michael Maclin wishes a fond farewell to his students at Maplewood-Richmond Heights.
Maplewood-Richmond Heights Vice Principal Michael Maclin is heading to University City High School, but not before saying goodbye to his former students and collegues. Maclin was hired as the new principal of UCHS in early March. His farewell video was posted on the MRH website. In turn, the students and faculty also posted a goodbye video for him. In his good-bye to MRH, he said the school will always be in his heart. "Love you guys," he concluded.

Michael Maclin comes to the district from Maplewood-Richmond Heights.
The School District of University City has hired Michael Maclin as the principal of University City High School for the 2012-2013 school year. Maclin will officially begin the position on July 1, but he will participate in planning activities prior to his official start date. Christine Powers, associate principal for Jackson Park Elementary has accepted a job as principal of the Mesnier Elementary School in the Affton School District.
Jackson Park Elementary Associate Principal Christine Powers has accepted a position in the Affton School District. Powers will be the new principal of Mesnier Primary School, which serves grades K-2 and currently has just under 500 students and a student-teacher ratio of 15-to-1. Elliott Shostak, who was principal of Nathaniel Hawthorne Elementary, will be the principal for Jackson Park. Mesnier's current principal, Steve Brotheron is leaving the post to become Affton School District superintendent. Speaking with Affton-Shrewsbury Patch Powers called Mesnier a “fabulous” school, which she believes creates a very strong foundation for the district. The School District has reinstated the principal of University City High School after several weeks on paid administrative leave.
University City High School Principal Tim Wernentin is back on the job. In an email to University City Patch, School District spokesperson Linda Russell said "Mr. Wernentin's administrative leave has ended, and he is back at University City High School." On February 24th, the U City School District sent a letter to high school parents saying Wernentin had been put on paid leave until further notice. At the time, Russell said the situation involved a "personnel matter," and had nothing to do with any students. No word on what prompted the school district to reinstate him, or any details on what caused the district to put him on administrative leave in the first place. The School District has put the principal of University City High School on paid administrative leave.
The University City School District has put University City High School Principal Tim Wernentin on paid administrative leave until further notice. District Communications Director Linda Russell said the situation involved a "personnel matter," and had nothing to do with any students. Russell said the District sent a letter to parents on Thursday, Feb. 24th, the same day Wernentin was put on paid leave. This was Wernentin's second year as principal of University City High School. Russell said Assistant Principal Dayle Burgdorf is now interim principal. According to the U City School District website, prior to becoming principal at UCHS, Wernentin was a principal for five years at Central High School in Davenport, Iowa.
