Voter turnout for the 2012 general election on Nov. 6 was down slightly compared to four years ago for St. Louis County. According to the Missouri Secretary of State's office, 68.67 percent of registered voters cast ballots for president this year, compared to 69.60 percent in 2008. Rep. Rory Ellinger, D- University City, will host a forum to discuss the conditions of the Missouri State prisons and the Pew Foundation’s report on recidivism at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Heman Park Community Center in University City. The event will also feature the director of the Department of Corrections, George Lombardi, State Rep. Gary Fuhr, R-St. Louis, a former FBI agent, and Robert McCulloch, Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis County. Rep. Ellinger will moderate the event as the guest give their personal insights on Missouri prisons and suggest much needed legislative reforms.
