The wonderful weather brought out the crowds Saturday.
The eighth annual Delmar Loop Ice Carnival was Saturday, Jan. 19, on Delmar Blvd. and judging by the packed sidewalks, it was a success. There were several events run throughout the day, including the Frozen Buns Run, temporary tattoo scavenger hunt, ice slides, human dog sled races and the putt-putt pub crawl. The eighth annual ice carnival is Jan. 19.
The eighth annual Loop Ice Carnival is an annual winter celebration in the Delmar Loop with over 65 participating businesses, 60+ Ice Sculptures, and 10,000 attendees last year. This year our goal is to involve the community as much as possible. The date for the 2013 Loop Ice Carnival is Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. Any non-political, non-religious organization is welcome to set up a winter themed game booth at the Loop Ice Carnival to raise money for their organization. The Loop will provide all game booths prizes so that every child is a winner! The Snow Ball at the Moonrise Hotel will proceed the carnival on Friday, Jan. 18.
The eighth annual Delmar Loop Ice Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19, on Delmar Blvd. The event begins at 11 a.m. There will be several events that run throughout the day. Participants can visit stores in the Loop to find ice cubes for the Ice Cube Give Away. There will be 1,000 cubes with dollar coins in them and 9,000 cubes with chocolate coins. The schedule of events for the day is as follows: Collect all 11 temporary tattoos from Loop businesses – then come claim your prize at the Pageant. $1,000 in $1 coins and 9,000 chocolate coins in ice cubes from 11 a.m. ‘til they’re gone. SNOW BALL AT THE MOONRISE Friday the Moonrise Hotel hosts the 2nd annual Snow Ball in St. Louis. The soiree is a precursor to Saturday's Delmar Loop Ice Carnival. There will be cocktails and cuisine.
