Get Out: Chance for Free Girl Scout Cookies

Anyone who finds a box with a ticket on it this weekend wins another box for free.

Forget to order your favorite Girl Scout cookies? Not to fear, cookies are still available for purchase. This weekend area Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will be out in force selling cookies at cookie booths. This weekend only the Girl Scouts will release boxes of cookies with “Girl Scout Tickets.” Anyone who finds a box with a ticket on it wins another box for free. Can You Guess the 5 Top-Selling Girl Scout Cookies?

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri release the 2012 bestseller list.

In 2012, Thin Mints led the way in cookie sales for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM). The familiar mint patties even outsold Oreos. Rounding out the top five best sellers were: This year, GSEM is excited to offer a new cookie as part of its product lineup – Mango Crèmes! These tropical treats are vanilla and coconut sandwich cookies with a mango-flavored crème filling. In addition to Mango Crèmes, GSEM will offer Lemonade and Thanks-A-Lot varieties. Did you know that five of the top 10 cookies sold in the United States are Girl Scout Cookies? Girl Scout troops across eastern Missouri will be going door-to-door taking initial orders until Sunday, Feb. 3. Troops will take additional orders until March 17. Cookies will be delivered …

New Cookie Added to Girl Scout Cookie Sale for 2013

Sales start Saturday and continue until Feb. 3, with delivery beginning Feb. 27.

It's that time of year! Girl Scout Cookie sales begin Jan. 12, 2013, and a new cookie has been added to this year's lineup. The Mango Creme, a vanilla and coconut sandwich cookie with a mango-flavored creme filling, joins this year's offering of Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Shortbreads, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Lemonades and Thanks-a-Lots. Cookies cost $3.50 per package. Orders will be taken from Jan. 12 until Feb. 3, and cookies will be delivered beginning Feb. 27. Booths will be set up between Feb. 27 and March 17 in locations around the Metro St. Louis area. Funds are used by GSEM for programs for girls, for adult volunteer training and for maintaining three local Girl Scout camps. Troops use their funds for …

Girl Scouts Drop Boy Band After New Video Shows Young People Partying

The band Allstar Weekend's newest video displays values that are "clearly inconsistent" with those of the Girl Scout organization, its leader said.

Allstar Weekend will not be playing in a major Girl Scout event in St. Louis next weekend following the discovery of a video that organizers say is not consistent with their values. Allstar Weekend, who has gained popularity for appearances on the Disney Channel, was scheduled as the main act for the BIG Day FamFest, a large festival on Sept. 22 organized by Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri in downtown St. Louis.  But the band has been pulled from the festival following the release of a music video for its song Life As We Know It. The video features what appears to be teen girls and boys drinking alcohol, smoking from a bong, stripping, throwing a chair in a swimming pool and throwing a bag of trash at a moving car. Girl Scout Cookies Go On Sale Saturday

Scouts around the area will be peddling cookies.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will kick off their annual cookie drive this Saturday. On Cookie Go! Day, as the kickoff is called, girls will begin taking orders and raising money to benefit Girl Scouts. The cookies will come in the same seven flavors as last year: Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades, Shout Out!, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Peanut Butter Patties, Thin Mints and Caramel deLites. Girl Scouts from troops across eastern Missouri, from St. Louis to north in Putnam Country to south in Ste. Genevieve, will begin selling cookies on Saturday, Jan. 21 at $3.50 per package.
