Red Cross Urges Flu Shots, Provides Tips for Those Infected
Missouri has not seen the widespread occurrences of the flu this winter, but 41 states, including all of Missouri's neighbors, have, according to the American Red Cross.
The following is a message issued Thursday from the American Red Cross about the flu. While much of the country is experiencing a crippling invasion of the flu, Missouri has been successful in defending against it – so far. The American Red Cross urges people who have not yet gotten a flu vaccine to get vaccinated now. The Red Cross also has steps people can take to prevent the spread of the flu virus during what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says is the worst influenza outbreak in several years in the United States.
