The Delmar Loop businesses and restaurants lit up for the holiday season Saturday night. Light Up the Loop started off the season with a blast of color and fun, featuring vintage Christmas lights decorating streetlamps and store rooftops, holiday-themed window displays in storefronts, and special deals from the Loop's shops and eateries. Craft Alliance is celebrating the season with its famous annual display of floating cascades of hand-blown glass ornaments by local and national artists, and restaurants and bars, including Fitz's and Market Pub House, will offer happy hour specials in the afternoon and evening. The Fatted Calf in Clayton wins this week's Food Fight.
We have a winner! The readers have spoken and the Fatted Calf in Clayton is the winner of this week's Mid-County Food Fight hamburger challenge. Our hamburger poll garnered lots of votes and strong opinions this week. Patch readers had a lot to say about their hamburgers. Here are a few of their comments: There were seven other restaurants that garnered votes — Blueberry Hill, Fitz's American Grill and Three Kings in University City; Carl's Drive-In, Cousin Hugos and Crow's Nest in the Maplewood-Brentwood area; and the Trainwreck Saloon in Rock Hill.
