Fifth-grader Caleb Perkins correctly spelled "Autumn" to win his school's spelling bee.

His main competitor was fourth-grader Gage McGinnis, who was sidelined after incorrectly spelling 'gentlemen.'

I missed the robot question, but I was right about how often a leap year occurs. And it was fun to explain…

I was there watching and loved hearing and seeing all the kids in the audience gasp and cheer and sigh with each spelling. And way to go to my 3rd grader!   more ›
