UNC's Holden Thorp Named New Provost at Wash U
Thorp will succeed Edward Macias, who held the provost and executive vice chancellor position at Washington University for 25 years.
Washington University in St. Louis named Holden Thorp of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as the university's new provost. Thorp, 48, will begin his tenure after he completes his term at UNC on June 30. The provost position is Wash U's chief academic officer. Thorp will succeed Edward Macias, who has been the provost at Washington University for 25 years. Macias joined the University in 1970 and is retiring this year.
