U City Day at the Ballpark: Ticket Sales Extended

The deadline to buy tickets for U City Day at Busch Stadium has been extended to May 2.

Haven't bought your tickets to join other University City residents at Busch Stadium for U City Day at the Ballpark? There is still time.  The University City school and business community will be cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, May 19, at the 1:15 p.m. game with the Brewers.  The deadline to purchase tickets has been extended until May 2. Brittany Woods Middle School's Dr. Jamie Jordan, the 2013 Missouri Middle School Principal of the Year, will throw out a ceremonial pitch at the Cardinal game. This is the second year in a row that Jordan has been recognized for her excellence in building leadership.   The tickets are $20 for an infield terrace reserved seat with a face value of $44 and a free hot dog and soda.   Kids who …

Student Honorees, Master Plan on School Board Agenda

The School District of University City board of education meeting, postponed last week because of snow, will be held tonight.

11 a.m. Update: The Board of Education will honor Brittany Woods Middle School Principal Dr. Jamie Jordan in March, not tonight. Our original story: Snow and poor road conditions pushed the School District of University City Board of Education meeting back a week. The board was originally slated to meet Feb. 21, but the meeting was postponed until Thursday, Feb. 28. The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at the district's McNair Administration Building. Items on the agenda include:  Announcements Superintendent's Report The meeting is open to the public.

School District to Honor Students, Educators

The School District of University City board of education meets Thursday.

The School District of University City will honor the accomplishments of students and staff at the February Board of Education meeting Thursday, Feb. 21.  The meeting is slated for 7 p.m. Thursday. Superintendent Joylynn Pruitt said she believes the recognitions are a good reminder to the Board and District as a whole about the reason they exist – to serve students.  “I have high standards for our students and expect them to do great things, but even so, I am always impressed with how talented our students are," she said. Brittany Woods Principal Named Missouri Middle School Principal of the Year

This is the second such honor for Dr. Jamie Jordan.

Dr. Jamie Jordan, principal of Brittany Woods Middle School in the School District of University City, has been named the 2013 Missouri Middle School Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. Jordan will receive the award at the annual MASSP Spring Conference on Monday, March 25. More than 400 middle school principals were considered for the honor. Jordan receives the recognition based on her impact in the areas of collaborative leadership, curriculum, instruction and assessment, and personalization of the learning environment. Jordan received a similar honor last year. She was named the 2012 Middle School Principal of the Year by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals (SASSP). “…

As a parent of two former Brittany Woods MS (and UCHS) graduates I am delighted to see Dr. Jordan's dedication and fine work recognized at the state level. At the time my sons were there, the school was in turmoil undergoing several curriculum revisions under three or four principals.
