Closing The 'Sidewalk Gap' On Delmar Blvd.

The city of Olivette and St. Louis County are working together to get a long-awaited project done near the University City border.

It has been a long time coming, but it appears Olivette is ready to fill a "sidewalk gap" along Delmar Boulevard near the University City border. The city's public works department is working with St. Louis County on a roughly $60,000 project that would put sidewalks in front of five apartment properties along the north side of Delmar Boulevard near Dumbarton Drive. The project needs the approval of the property owner in the area and the city still needs to obtain right-of-way easements, but once that happens, the county will hire a contractor, with the expectation the work will be done this summer.

Car Plows Into Building at Delmar and Midland

No injuries reported in Friday afternoon crash.

A vehicle struck the Zeigler Enterprises building at the corner of Midland and Delmar about 5 p.m. Friday afternoon. According to University City Police, the driver of the vehicle was on Midland and turned into the building instead of making the right onto Delmar. Officers at the scene told University City Patch that no one was hurt and the crash was "just an accident." The front entry to 7201 Delmar was crushed in from the impact. The building is next door to Winslow's Home.

I completely agree!! There is definitely more to this. I turn at this corner from Midland everyday and there is no way. I mean this parking lot is much higher than the street level. There is a secret being kept here.   more ›
