One of the victims had been threatened previously by the defendant's friend, according to a University City Police report.
A man was charged Wednesday afternoon in the Oct. 29 shooting death of a mother and her son at Sutter and Bartmer avenues. Carlos Suber, 21, of the 1000 block of Roth Avenue in University City, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action. University City Police said Suber shot and killed Phebe Stallings, 54, and her son Mosary Stallings, 23, both residents of the 6500 block of Bartmer. Witnesses identified Suber as the person running from the shooting scene, according to court documents. Suber also has been identified as having a weapon and making threatening statements about Mosary Stallings, University City Police said. Suber is being held in St. Louis County jail. A Vinita Park man was stabbed to death Wednesday in his home in the 8300 block of Monroe Street, just north of Olivette. Vinita Park Police said in a report that Jarvis Simms, 28, was seen repeatedly stabbing the victim, Walter Scott, with a large bladed knife. Simms has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Police said in the probable cause statement that Simms stabbed Scott “after deliberation.” Simms is being held in St. Louis County Justice Services Center without bond. A woman has been charged in connection with the accident that killed bicyclist Samuel Scott on the Delmar Loop in University City earlier this year, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Friday. Hagan, 30, of the 400 block of North Clay Avenue, was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated." Dory Hollander grew up in University City. Her family tells the St. Louis Post Dispatch that she died Thursday after a 3-year battle with endometrial cancer. She was 69.

Dory Hollander, a psychologist and author who grew up in University City has died at 69 after a three-year battle with endometrial cancer, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Her book "101 Lies Men Tell Women — and Why Women Believe Them," made her a popular TV and radio guest during the fallout of President Bill Clinton's affair with intern Monica Lewinsky. Hollander graduated from University City High School in 1959 and earned her undergraduate degree at Washington University reports the Post. She was the founder and president WiseWorkplaces and New Options Inc., management consulting and executive coaching firms. She is the mother of two grown children, according to her biography on the website WiseWorkplaces.

Former University City City Manager Frank Ollendorff's mother has passed away at the age of 101.
The mother of former University City City Manager Frank Ollendorff passed away on Monday at Horizon Bay Assisted Living in Carrollton, Georgia. Martha B. Ollendorff was 101. Martha Ollendorff's biography courtesy of the Almon Funeral Home: Martha Ollendorff was born in Magdeburg, Germany, the daughter of the late Karl Oskar Wilhelm Burge and Anna Klara Marie Loose Burge. She immigrated with her husband, Henry, to the USA in 1938 becoming a citizen in 1944. She assisted her husband in the founding of an international social work exchange program that has touched thousands of lives worldwide.
