The School District of University City approved the sale of bonds and a contract with Ameresco Construction to begin work from Prop U this summer.
As soon as students leave the halls of School District of University City schools for summer vacation, work will begin on several construction projects. The Board of Education Thursday approved the sale of bonds from the Proposition U measure, allowing the district to begin work on school improvement projects immediately.The board also approved an initial construction contract with Ameresco Construction for Phase 1 of the work. Phase 1 will occur over summer 2013. Ameresco said it plans to come back in October 2013, March 2014 and December 2014 for approval of additional phases of work. Major construction should be complete in the summer of 2015. The contract for the Phase 1 work is for $4,410,061. Proposition U passed on the April ballot…
