Legendary musician was featured at the 2013 St. Louis Arts Awards on Monday.
Chuck Berry, often described as the poet laureate of rock and roll, was feted with a repertoire of his famous musical riffs and lyrical hits performed by guitarist Billy Peek at the 2013 St. Louis Arts Awards ceremony Monday at the Chase Park Plaza. Berry, 86, received the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts award as part of A&E’s kick-off to its 50th anniversary celebration. This past October the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum awarded Berry the American Music Masters Award, its highest honor. Berry, the Museum’s first inductee (1986), still performs monthly at the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill in the Delmar Loop. Supporters gathered in Bridgeton Monday night for Senator Claire McCaskill's final campaign rally.
A campaign rally in Bridgeton Monday night drew a crowd of supporters and a couple of celebrities who cheered on Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri). Don King got the crowd going before McCaskill took the stage. McCaskill said that now the focus of the campaign is to make sure supporters get out to vote Nov. 6. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is honoring Chuck Berry during the 17th annual American Music Masters series. Roll Over Beethoven: The Life and Music of Chuck Berry, a weeklong celebration, will tell the story of one of the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. “I’m happy to be honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum,” said Berry. “I’m looking forward to reelin’ and rockin’ in Cleveland.” Berry is scheduled to attend the tribute concert on Saturday, Oct. 27 to accept the award and perform. The guitar, stolen early last week, was returned to the rock legend and Delmar Loop regular Friday.
A stolen guitar valued at $50,000 was returned to rock 'n roll legend Chuck Berry Friday. The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department recovered the stolen guitar from the home of one of the three men arrested in connection with the theft, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The Sheriff's Department was called Thursday to investigate reports of items stolen from Berry's estate near Wentzville. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that one of Berry's electric guitars and some power tools went missing from an unlocked office building and attached garage at the 35-acre "Berry Park" on Buckner Road. Fox2 News reported that the guitar, a valuable 1978 Gibson ES-355, was reported stolen on Monday. On Tuesday, sheriff's department staff were …

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that one of Berry's electric guitars and some power tools went missing from an unlocked office building and attached garage at the 35-acre "Berry Park" on Buckner Road. Fox2 News reported that the guitar, a valuable 1978 Gibson ES-355, was reported stolen on Monday. On Tuesday, sheriff's department staff were called back about the stolen tools, which included 3 power washers, among other items.
