Deputy chief described as unforgettable in memorial celebration at City Hall.
Friends, classmates and community members paid tribute to the late Ernest Green, the Deputy Police Chief of the University City Police Department Sunday night at City Hall. Green, 46, died on December 20 from brain cancer. The class motto of the University City High School class of 1982 was "unforgettable" and that was the overriding theme at last night's memorial celebration, which eulogized Green's life and effect on the community. About 60 people turned up for the gathering, which was filled with reminiscent memories, songs and humor. Tracy Shields and class president Gary Boyd set up the event, which was organized through the Class of 1982 Reunion Committee.
