Thousands enjoyed rides, games, food, music and a car show at Heman Park.
Squeals of excitement, laughter, flashing lights and speeds so fast your head spins, Fair U City had it all. Heman Park was transformed over the Memorial Day weekend into Fair U City, an old fashioned carnival. Fairgoers enjoyed a weekend of family entertainment, carnival rides, midway games, a car show and plenty of food and cold drinks. Musical entertainment featuring some of the areas best musicians was enjoyed throughout the weekend. The St. Lunatics, minus Nelly, closed the festival with a performance Monday evening. Temperatures were high, record breaking in fact. Regardless of the sweltering heat, people came out by the thousands to enjoy this three-day event. Editor’s note: Take a look at our photo gallery. Maybe you will recognize…

The Delmar Loop celebrates its seventh annual ice carnival.
Ice was flying in the Delmar Loop this Saturday for the seventh annual Delmar Loop Ice Carnival. Hundreds of people hit the street to take in ice carving demonstrations, human-dog-sled races, and a whole lot of ice sculptures. "I liked two things: getting (candy) gold coins from penguins, and taking pictures with ice sculptures," said Grayson Daitch, 10, of Chesterfield. "They're awesome," said Wendy Henrix, of University City, about the ice sculptures. "(The sculpture of) Bob Marley has been my favorite so far." Randy Caress, of Market Pub House, said he enjoyed participating in the human-dog-sled games as his team's sled rider. "It was good. I had to hold on for dear life and get bumped into the rail, but other than that it was pretty …
