Missouri Professional Racing Starts, Ends on Delmar

MOPRO Racing arrived in University City with a line up featuring professional racers from across the country. Bikes with training wheels to $16,000 Pinerello Dogmass made their way through the street course for a full day of racing.

The Delmar Loop played host to the Loop de Loop race Friday night. The race was the first stage of the Missouri Professional Cycling Series. The series also included Saturday's Tour de Grove and Sunday's Dutchtown Classic.  Big Shark Bicycle Company on Delmar coordinated the races.

Professional Bikers Will 'Loop de Loop' May 11

The professional bicycling race is part of the three day Missouri Professional Cycling Series.

National and International Professional Cycling returns to Missouri this May with the Missouri Professional Cycling Series (MO PRO). Featuring three days of racing in three historic neighborhoods across University City and the City of St. Louis, the Missouri Professional Cycling Series is comprised of three events: The Missouri Professional Cycling Series features the Tour de Grove, which is one of only 19 USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar (NCC) professional cycling races in the United States. The NCC series represents the most prestigious professional cycling races in the United States and attracts the top professional cyclists and teams to compete from across the country and world. Friday is National Bike to Work Day

Big Shark Bicycle Company in Delmar Loop offering free breakfast to commuters who bike to work on Friday, National Bike to Work Day.

If you haven't dusted off that bike that's been lying dormant since winter, now is the time to do it. Friday, May 20, 2011 is National Bike to Work Day. Plus, you'll get free breakfast if you pedal to work. Trailnet, a non-profit, environmental organization will be offering free continental breakfast for bike commuters at various refueling stations across St. Louis. Breakfast will be served 6:30 – 9:00 a.m.  The fueling station closets to U City will be at Big Shark Bicycle Company at 6133 Delmar.
