Intruders Assault Man, Break TV and Steal Xbox, Police Say

Webster Groves Police said U City resident Kyle Connors and two others forcibly questioned the man about the whereabouts of a mutual acquaintance using two linked combination locks.

Three men forced their way into an apartment early in the morning May 10, assaulted a Webster Groves resident and stole his Xbox game system, police said. Kyle Connors, 23, of the 500 block of North and South Road in University City, was charged May 15 with first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery and second-degree property damage. Webster Groves Police said that Connors and two other men pounded loudly on an apartment door in the 700 block of Chamberlain Place at about 2:25 a.m. May 10. When the resident cracked the door to see who it was, the men forced their way into the apartment, police said. University City Man Harrassed Woman, Threatened Her Life, Police Say

Bridgeton Police said Karl Edwards' threats caused the woman to fear for her life.

A University City man faces criminal charges for threatening a woman’s life with repeated phone calls and face-to-face threats. Karl Edwards, 32, of the 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in University City, was charged Sunday with third-degree assault and harassment. Bridgeton Police said Edwards pointed a finger at the woman and threatened her at about 2:48 a.m. Feb. 27 in the 12000 block of Chaparral Drive in Bridgeton. The assault charge is based on the Feb. 27 incident because prosecutors said Edwards caused the woman to fear for her safety At about 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, police said Edwards began calling the woman repeatedly and threatened to kill her. University City Police incidents from the week of Feb. 11-17.

Each week, University City Patch features a look at reports from the University City Police Department. Here is a look at the blotter from the week of Feb. 11-17, 2013. The department arrested 37 adults. There were two assaults. The reporting party stated that her juvenile daughter delayed reporting that she was injured by a pellet (projectile) while with several friends. The victim reported the juvenile friends had the pellet gun. No serious injury. Three juveniles are being interviewed. The victim stated during an argument his girlfriend tool his car and he was injured while trying to stop her. A 37 year-old female, was arrested for assault and taking of motor vehicle. *Exact address information redacted by the University City Police.

Man Charged With Molesting 10-Year-Old in U City

Fred Butler Jr. is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

A man faces criminal charges for molesting a 10-year-old child in University City, police said. Fred Butler Jr., 32, of the 3800 block of Penrose Street in St. Louis, was charged Feb. 8 with two counts of first-degree child molestation. University City Police said Butler subjected the child to sexual contact on two occasions. Butler was being held in St. Louis County jail Wednesday. Bail was set at $50,000, cash only. U City Man Shot Man in Chest, Police Say

The shooting victim survived; Eric Cooper has been charged in the incident in North County.

A 41-year-old University City man shot a North County man in the chest in Glasgow Village, St. Louis County Police said. Eric C. Cooper, 41, of the 7400 block of Liberty Avenue in University City, was charged Wednesday with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. St. Louis County Police said Cooper shot the man in the chest Nov. 21 in the 10500 block of Lothian Circle in Glasgow Village in North County. The shooting victim was taken to a St. Louis area hospital. Information was not immediately available on his condition. Police said Cooper is not allowed to possess a firearm because he was convicted in 2008 of a felony, distributing cocaine base. Cooper is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail …

Man Hurls Glass Bowl at Teen, Gashing His Forehead

Several stitches were required to close up the wound, police said.

A man threw a glass bowl full of rice at a 16-year-old, gashing the teen’s forehead, University City Police reported. Calvin Turner, 32, of the 4000 block of Cook Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Thursday with child abuse, a class C felony. As an alternative to the child abuse charge, he was charged with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor. University City Police said Turner was angered because the teenager stuck up for his mother and threw the rice bowl at him. The glass bowl struck the 16-year-old in the forehead, causing a gash that required stitches, police said. The incident was Feb. 12 at a home in University City. Bail was set at $10,000 for Turner. Each week, University City Patch features a look at reports from the University City Police Department. Here is a look at the blotter from the week of Aug. 20-26. The department arrested 63 adults and two juveniles. There was one robbery, two assaults, one auto theft and one attempted auto theft.  Victim injured during an altercation with a group of subjects. Two suspects were arrested for assault and one suspect being sought. Person(s) unknown gained entry into the victim's unsecured vehicle by damaging a door lock. The suspect(s) damaged the ignition switch. The victim stated a subject approached him and demanded his belongings. The suspect fled and was pursued into St. Louis by our officers. Man Shot Victim Three Times After Walking Up to Group, Police Say

The victim survived, but was seriously injured after being shot in the arm and one in the hand, police said.

A man faces criminal charges after police said he shot a man three times Aug. 25 in the 6800 block of Olive Boulevard in University City. Maleke Johnson, 18, of the 5700 block of Albia Terrace in Jennings, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. University City Police said in a report that Johnson approached a group of people in a parking lot at about 4:25 p.m. Aug. 25 and shot the victim three times, twice in the arm and once in the hand. Police: Three Acted Together in Heman Park Shooting

Witnesses identified men and the van as being involved in Friday's crime at the park.

More details were released on the Heman Park shooting on Friday as charges were filed against three men. Each of the three men were charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. The suspects are: University City Police said in a report the three men, acting together, shot at the victim near the basketball courts in Heman Park Friday. Several witnesses described a van as being involved in the shooting, police said. The victim identified two of the men in the van as people who shot at him. University City Police stopped the van near the scene of the shooting. A handgun and spent shell casing were recovered inside the van.
