Come to the Library to Learn About Our E-books & E-readers

Are you curious about how to check out e-books from the library on your
e-reader? Or perhaps considering buying an e-reader yourself and wondering what the difference is between all the options?

We have a wide range of popular fiction and non-fiction e-books in our collection, and thanks to a generous grant we received earlier this year, UCPL recently purchased several e-reading devices to train our staff and the public. We now have: a Kindle Fire, a Kindle Paperwhite, an HP tablet that runs on Windows 8, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2, an iPad, an iPad Mini, a Nook Simple Touch, a Nook Tablet, a Kobo, and a Kobo Mini.

All of these devices will be available for your perusal at our first public “e-reader petting zoo” on Wednesday, August 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium. A second “zoo” is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9.  Please stop by and explore our e-readers, or bring your own e-reader and any questions you may have. At both events, our Reference staff will be on hand to answer questions and help you navigate the often-confusing process.

If, however, you can't make it to one of our petting zoos, feel free to stop by the reference desk at your convenience. We're happy to help!

UCPL is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Visit our website at www.ucitylibrary.org, and keep checking Patch for more articles from your library!
