U. City Throttles St. Charles West In Football District Semifinal
Senior running back David Carmichael had four touchdowns in the first half, and scored five times overall, as U. City upsets the top-seeded Warriors.
ST. CHARLES -- The University City High football team played perhaps its best game under head coach Carl Reed Wednesday, as the Lions walloped top-seeded St. Charles West, 42-0, to advance to the MSHSAA Class 4 District 5 championship game on Monday.
The Lions will play Clayton, which defeated Gateway Tech on Wednesday, to advance to Monday's district title game as well.
Senior running back David Carmichael had a huge night for the Lions, scoring four first-half touchdowns, and later a fifth in the second half, to lift U. City to its upset victory.
