Uneaten Ballpark Food Benefits Operation Food Search

Find out what happens to your half-eaten hot dog at, and other snacks that aren't sold at Busch Stadium.

The St. Louis Cardinals have an interesting way of disposing of uneaten food at Busch Stadium--uneaten food is donated to Operation Food Search, while scraps are hauled off to St. Louis Composting, Riverfront Times reports.

Operation Food Search, based in University City, collects and distributes food to partner agencies to help fight hunger. Most donations are from local individuals and vendors, according to their website.

The team has saved around 2,000 tons of waste from landfills, according to RFT, and their efforts were recognized by the EPA prior to a game last month.
