University City Student Earns Perfect ACT Score

Dan Politte is involved on the school's robotics and quiz bowl teams, as well as Latin Club.

University City High School student Dan Politte managed a perfect ACT score, according to a blog post from Kim Deitzler on the Say Yes to U City Schools blog.

"A born and bred U City boy, Dan began his journey to academic greatness as a kindergartner at Jackson Park Elementary," Deitzler writes. "As you might expect, he carries a challenging course load, heavy on AP (Advanced Placement) classes. In fact, he’s taking five this year, which is roughly equivalent to a full college load."

Politte is a founding member of the UCHS FIRST Robotics Competition team, and is also involved in Latin Club and the schools Quiz Bowl team, the UCHA Certamen, according to the post.

It's been a big year for Politte--he even had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., for this year's inauguration.

"He’s applied to Mizzou, The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, The University of Minnesota, Washington University Saint Louis, The University of Michigan, and Case Western Reserve University. He has acceptance letters from the first three, and I suspect more are on the way, Dan’s hoping to combine his two passions, robotics and Latin, into engineering and classics double major," Deitzler writes.
