Tuesday Marks Construction Milestone of New Pershing School Building

On Tuesday, the last beam will be added for the new Pershing Elementary School building.

Tuesday marks an important construction milestone of the new Pershing Elementary School building in University City.

Students and members of the community are invited to a topping out ceremony, in which the construction management team McCarthy/Kwame will place the last steel beam. Attendees will sign the final beam before installation, as well as review items to be placed in a time capsule.  

The topping out ceremony will be held Tuesday, October 2 at 2:00pm at the location of  the Pershing Elementary construction site, located at 6761 Bartmer Ave.

. Construction is expected to be completed in July 2012.

  • When: Tuesday, Oct. 11th 2 p.m.
  • Where: Site of new Pershing Elementary School under construction, located at 6761 Bartmer Ave.

The new Pershing Elementary building will be a two-story, 60,000-square-foot building. The construction process will include green building practices with the goal of meeting LEED certification.
