St. Louis Graduates Opens High School-to-College Center in the Delmar Loop

It's a new project aimed at helping recent high school graduates make into college.

There is a new program in University City aimed at helping new high school graduates get to college.

St. Louis Graduates is a network of youth-serving college access provider organizations, K-12 education, higher education, philanthropic funders and businesses that help low-income and first generation college students graduate college.

The program goal is for 50 percent of adults in the region to have a post-secondary degree by 2020. To help accomplish this, the group has opened the High School to College Center in the Delmar Loop.

The center encourages students to drop in and work through the college enrollment process. The center is meeting with students daily from noon-to-5 p.m., at 618 N. Skinker. The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis' financial aid advisors  are on site every day. On Tuesdays, a rep from St. Louis Community College is on-location. On Wednesday, students with special needs can learn about resources available to them.
