School District to Hold Community Engagement Events

Conversations with the Superintendent' and 'Secondary Schools Open House Tours' are slated for March.

The School District of University City is launching a series of community engagement opportunities so current and prospective families, community members and staff can learn more about the great things happening in its schools.

The community is invited to attend one of the “Conversations with the Superintendent” addresses scheduled for 7:30 a.m., 4 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5. The first two presentations will be held in the boardroom of the Ronald E. McNair Administration Building, located at 8136 Groby Road.

The last presentation will be held in the Brittany Woods Middle School library.

Superintendent of Schools Joylynn Pruitt will share information about Proposition U, a $19.4 million zero-tax-rate increase bond issue measure that will appear on the April 2 ballot, academic reform efforts, the District's full accreditation, as well as open up the lines of communication for an informal question-and-answer session.

Starting at 7 p.m., stakeholders will be allowed to tour Brittany Woods.

March 12-13

The community is also welcome to tour University City High School at 6:30 p.m. March 12 and 13 to examine its needs.
