Marching Band Takes "U" Pride to Streets of Jeff City

The UCHS Marching Band showed its U City pride during Lincoln University's homecoming this past weekend.

The University City High School Marching Band took home second place honors for the parade and show competition at Lincoln University’s homecoming on Saturday, October 1. The band also performed at intervals during the homecoming football game.

Located in Jefferson City, Lincoln University is home to many UCHS alumni who showed their “U” pride along the scenic parade route.

The “Golden Explosion” is directed by UCHS teacher Dan Shavers and led by Drum Major Terrance Childs.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, October 9 from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. the UCHS Band Boosters are sponsoring a car wash at the . Money raised from the car wash will go toward the band’s trip to march in The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff’s homecoming parade on November 5. Tickets can be purchased in advance from band students. Additional donations are welcome.
