Happy Homecoming

University City celebrated its annual Homecoming parade on Saturday morning.

University City celebrated its annual homecoming parade Saturday morning with floats and marchers from University City clubs and schools. Groups marched from the Loop at Kinsgland, west on Delmar, north on Hanley, and east on Balson to University City High School.

Small crowds gathered in clusters along Delmar and Hanley to watch the parade. Children and adults caught candy, danced to music from the University City High School marching band, and marveled at the floats.

"I liked the (float) with the giant lion," said Paige Stephens, 7.

"I liked Julia Goldstein (Early Childhood Education Center), because I used to work there. And I love the little ones. They worked so hard on it," said Rosemary Strembicki.

"We like Jackson Park; it's our school. The band was great too," said Goreti Fabian.
