Pershing Elementary Topping Out Ceremony

Students and members of the community are invited to show their support for the new Pershing Elementary School now under construction.

Tuesday marks an important milestone, when the construction management team McCarthy/Kwame places the last beam during a topping out ceremony at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 11.  

Participants will sign the final beam before installation, as well as review the items to be placed in the time capsule.

  • When:  2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11th at the site of the new Pershing Elementary School under construction.
  • Where:  Pershing Elementary School building under construction, located at 6761 Bartmer Ave. in University City.
  • Background:  The new Pershing Elementary building will be a two-story, 60,000-square-foot building with architectural features reminiscent of the original building, including extensive, classic exterior brickwork to blend into the surrounding community
