University City Hosting Meeting to Discuss Bicycle, Pedestrian Master Plan

The City of Univeristy City and the University City Plan Commission are hosting a joint meeting to discuss the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.

The meeting will be held on at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27,  at the Heman Park Community Center, 975 Pennsylvania Avenue.

A draft Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan was prepared for the City of University City in 2012. This effort was funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation and administered by Trailnet, a non-profit organization working throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan region to foster healthy and active communities through plans, programs and policies that promote walking and bicycling. The draft Plan is being considered for endorsement by the City’s Plan Commission and adoption by City Council as part of the City’s overall comprehensive plans.

Facilitated by the City’s Plan Commission, this meeting is an opportunity to learn about how the draft plan was developed, learn about proposed routes and program recommendations, and to provide comments or ask questions. An Open House will occur after the meeting allowing residents to review project maps and ask Trailnet, City staff, members of the Plan Steering Committee and others any detailed questions.

For more information, contact the Department of Community Development at (314) 505-8500. To review the draft plan, go to www.ucitymo.org.
