Traffic Ahead: Blasting to Begin on 270 Between Big Bend and Manchester

Rock will be blasted and cleared away to widen I-270.

Lots of big closures to report from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).

Starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, crews will shift two open lanes on westbound Interstate 44 near Antire Road to the eastbound lanes as part of an on-going pavement replacement project between Lewis Road and Route 141. One lane will be closed around the clock in each direction until mid-September. In addition, the westbound I-44 entrance and exit ramp at Antire Road will be closed for the month of June.

One eastbound lane on I-44 closed this past Tuesday evening with two lanes open and will continue around the clock until mid-September. Motorists will experience traffic delays of several minutes on Interstate 44 with this one-lane closure during morning peak travel times, especially from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. MoDOT has been evaluating the traffic delays and travel times during every morning rush-hour to make any necessary adjustments.
