As the 2012 election season heats up, local lawmakers have been making news.
The Missouri Supreme Court is continuing to review a lawsuit on the state redistricting map. The court's decision will determine which districts Rep. William Lacy Clay and Rep. Russ Carnahan will live in and therefore can represent. Both have indicated they will run in the fall.
Carnahan and Clay voted on either sides of the payroll tax cut extension issue this week. As The Hill reports, the vote has been a tricky issue for districts still reeling from redistricting.

- Rep. Clay and Sen. Roy Blunt weighed in on the birth control debate, speaking to the New York Times.
- Rev. Al Sharpton will be coming to St. Louis in March. The event will be held March 16 at Harris-Stowe State College. Rev. Sharpton and Rep. Clay will hold a voting rights forum to commorate the passage of the Voting Rights Act. According to Politics360, in the days prior to the St. Louis event, a group will march from Selma to Montgomery, AL.
