Local Voters May Have Gotten the Wrong Ballot
The St. Louis County Election Board has declined to certify the results of the 82nd District race for state representative because of 102 ballots that may have been incorrect.
When Missouri's primary election drew to a close Aug. 7 with a race determined by a single vote, you knew the race wasn't quite over.
On Tuesday, one week after the election, the St. Louis County Election Board declined to certify the results of the 87th District state representative race between incumbents and .
—1,823 votes to 1,822. The Democratic incumbents were redistricted into the same district by the 2010 Census.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 102 voters were given the incorrect ballot. Voters were given ballots for the 83rd District when they should have been given 87th District ballots.

County election officials told the Post that a new election may be required, because a recount wouldn't solve the problem, "since there's no way to go back to each of those 102 voters and determine who they would have voted for had they had the proper ballots."
The 87th district includes areas of Clayton, , Ladue and Brentwood.
