Youth in the Loop Forum

University City will host a forum to discuss youth issues in University City. The "Youth in the Loop" Forum will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, 6pm at the Heman Park Community Center. The center is located at 975 Pennsylvania, in University City.

This forum will address youth issues in University City only. 

Topics to be discussed:
1. Identify needs of youth in University City?
2. Programs and providers to address youth needs?
3. What programs should be implemented in the short term? In the long term?
4. What is effective communication and interaction with youth?
5. What misconceptions or perceptions about youth persist that are barriers to progress?
6. Discuss the challenges and opportunities that could result from operating a youth center?
7. How will youth initiatives be funded?

This forum will discuss youth issues within University City. The goal is to get everyone at the table to discuss the issues, perceptions, and desired solutions. The aim of the forum is to ensure that youth in University City have meaningful activities and resources available to them. University City youth are encouraged to attend.

Please be advised that this is not a follow up to University City Mayor Shelley Welsch’s “Regional Initiative on Youth” meeting held on July 12, 2011. This is a conversation specifically focused on University City youth issues.
