Press Conference on Collecting Sales Tax for Internet Purchases
Local merchants from the University City Loop join with State Representatives Rory Ellinger and Margo McNeil to discuss the uneven playing field created when local merchants collect sales tax but compete with large out-of-state companies that do business on the internet but don't collect or remit sales tax. Missouri could collect as much as $200 million a year in revenue - without creating a new tax.
