Bike, Walkability Plan to Be Presented Monday

The task force created by Mayor Shelley Welsch will share its findings with the city council.

In an effort to move towards being one of the most sustainable cities in the St. Louis Metropolitan region and to make the streets as safe as possible for bicyclists and pedestrians, a Mayor's Task Force on University City's Bike and Walkability was established in October 2010.

The task force was charged with reviewing best practices locally, nationally and internationally to determine how to make University City's streets safer for sustainable walking and biking, and how to move forward on making University City a "complete streets" community.

The task force will report to City Council at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 25.
